The taboos and political correctness of dealing with the critical issue of the world's unprecedented population explosion is one of the barriers that must be surmounted quickly so we can deal with one of the principle and driving engines of the world's eco-social crisis: population.
As well, the global South must get cracking with family planning at the same time that the North confronts over-consumption. The North will also have to reckon with an important draw down of its own population as well.
Without both North and South working at full and effective speed, we might as well kiss our one and only planet goodbye. Simply said, we have overshot the Earth's carrying capacity and put humanity in near checkmate, not to mention what this overshoot has done to all the other creatures we are supposed to share the planet with, many are already extinct and extinction we should remember is FOREVER.
